EMDR Intensives: A Faster Path to Trauma Healing

ree

If you've been carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, or painful memories for years, it’s natural to want relief that actually works. Traditional weekly therapy can be powerful, but sometimes you need more—more time, more focus, and more movement.

That’s where EMDR intensives come in.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed therapy backed by decades of research. It helps your brain reprocess disturbing memories so that they no longer feel emotionally overwhelming.

Through structured phases, EMDR supports your natural ability to heal—allowing you to release the emotional “charge” from painful events, reduce anxiety, and build new beliefs about yourself and the world.

What Makes an Intensive Different?

Unlike the traditional 50-minute therapy hour, EMDR intensives give you several hours of focused time in one sitting—typically ranging from 2 to 6 hours per day over one or more days.

In an EMDR intensive, you can:

  • Get results in days that might take months in weekly therapy

  • Work through stuck trauma or anxiety with fewer interruptions

  • Deepen your progress with dedicated, uninterrupted time

  • Minimize the emotional “ramp up and down” that happens in weekly sessions

EMDR intensives are ideal for those who:

  • Feel stuck in talk therapy and need a breakthrough

  • Want to address a specific traumatic event or life transition

  • Are preparing for a major life change and want emotional clarity

  • Have limited time in their schedule but want meaningful progress

What to Expect

I offer personalized EMDR intensives designed with your healing in mind. Before we begin, we’ll meet for a consultation to determine whether an intensive is the right fit for you. If so, I’ll create a custom plan tailored to your needs, history, and goals.

Most intensives include:

  • A pre-intensive session

  • A half-day or full-day intensive session (3–10 hours)

  • A post-intensive follow-up session to support integration

During the intensive, we’ll work at your pace—using grounding, safety tools, and EMDR processing to target the roots of your pain while supporting your nervous system every step of the way.

If you're looking for a deeper, accelerated healing experience in a safe and supportive environment, EMDR intensives might be exactly what you need.
